Summary

In recent years, Dr. Peng ZHANG conducted intensive research in the field of cryogenic heat transfer, in particular heat transfer of superfluid helium and flow visualization at low temperature. He has reached a thorough understanding of the transient heat transfer in superfluid helium and proposed novel 3D visualization method for flow in micro-tube. He has also built a prototype for cold storage by clathrate hydrate slurry and investigated the complex thermo-fluidic phenomena of the slurry. He is PI of many projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Education of China, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, etc.

He has published 3 monographs and over 50 international journal papers. He also pended 7 patents. He was the invited keynote speakers at several international conferences and served as organizing committee member and session chairs of international conferences, such as ACRA2010 in Japan, ACASC2009 in Japan, ASME-HT2008 in US, ICEC22 in Korea, IEEE-MT19 in Italy, etc. Prof. Zhang has established long-term partnership with University of Tsukuba, AIST, Tohoku University, Florida State University, Ecole des mines de Saint-Etienne (EMSE) and The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS).
